About
Titanic Slipways
The Titanic Slipways are one of Belfast's most significant historic landmarks, located in the heart of the city's world-famous Titanic Quarter.
These vast slipways were constructed by Harland & Wolff and are the very place where RMS Titanic and her sister ship RMS Olympic were built and launched in the early twentieth century. Today, the outlines of both ships remain marked on the ground, allowing visitors to appreciate the extraordinary scale of the vessels that helped shape Belfast's industrial legacy.
Surrounded by some of the city's most iconic maritime landmarks, including the historic Harland & Wolff cranes Samson and Goliath, the slipways provide a powerful connection to Belfast's shipbuilding heritage and its role in global maritime history.
Now transformed into a major public events space, the Titanic Slipways regularly host concerts, festivals, cultural celebrations and large-scale outdoor performances. Their dramatic industrial setting and historic significance make them one of the most unique event locations on the island of Ireland.
During Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann, the Titanic Slipways provide a spectacular backdrop for music, dance and cultural performances, bringing together Belfast's industrial heritage and its vibrant contemporary cultural life.
The historic birthplace of RMS Titanic and one of Belfast's most iconic outdoor event spaces.
