Legal
Terms of use
Effective 5 May 2026.
These terms cover everyone who uses the Belfast Fleadh Guide — both visitors browsing the guide and operators listing venues. By using the service you agree to them. Plain English; the legal bits are kept short on purpose.
1. Who runs this
The Belfast Fleadh Guide is run by Lavery Ltd., 12–18 Bradbury Place, Belfast BT7 1RS (“we”, “us”). Company no. NI002186, VAT GB252747549. The site is not the official Fleadh Cheoil app and is not affiliated with Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann.
2. The service
We aggregate venue information, live status updates, crowd-sourced reports, events and offers for the duration of Belfast Fleadh week and the days around it. The guide is free to use. We make no warranty that any particular venue, session or offer will be available — things change quickly during a festival and we surface what operators and the crowd tell us in good faith.
3. Accounts
You can browse most of the guide without an account. To post chat messages, save favourites across devices, claim a venue, or run an operator dashboard you need to sign in via our authentication provider, Clerk.
You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials safe and for everything done under your account. If you think your account’s been compromised, email us at contact@belfastfleadh.com.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Post anything illegal, defamatory, threatening, hateful or sectarian.
- Post spam, advertising, or content unrelated to a venue or the festival.
- Submit fake crowd reports, automate reports, or otherwise try to manipulate the live status of a venue.
- Impersonate a venue, member of staff, or another user.
- Scrape, crawl or otherwise extract bulk data from the service except where we publish a public feed for that purpose (sitemap, RSS, etc.).
- Probe, attack, or attempt to disrupt the service or any user’s access to it.
We may remove content, suspend accounts, or revoke a venue listing if these rules are broken. Repeated or serious breaches result in a permanent ban.
5. User content
When you submit content to the guide — chat messages, crowd reports, photos in your venue listing — you keep ownership of it but grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display and distribute it within the service for as long as your account remains live (or, for venue listings, for as long as the listing remains live).
You confirm that you’re entitled to grant that licence: i.e. that the content is yours or you have permission from whoever does own it.
Three reports auto-hide a chat message pending review. We reserve the right to remove anything that breaks the acceptable-use rules above.
6. Operator listings
If you sign your venue up, you agree that:
- The information you submit (name, address, hours, food details, photos, descriptions) is accurate at the time of submission and you’ll keep it up to date.
- You’ll respond to chat messages and update your live status during opening hours where reasonably possible.
- Offers you publish are honest and you’ll honour them for the published period.
- You’re entitled to use any photos you upload — either you took them, you have permission from whoever did, or they’re available under a licence that permits commercial display.
Listings are manually approved. We may refuse or remove a listing at our discretion — for example if a venue has permanently closed, has been the subject of multiple credible safety complaints, or is repeatedly in breach of these terms.
7. Liability
The guide is provided “as is”. We do our best to keep the data fresh — stale statuses automatically expire to “unknown” rather than mislead you — but we can’t guarantee that any particular venue is open, safe, accessible or has space when you arrive. Always check critical details (especially accessibility needs and last-orders times) directly with the venue.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
8. Privacy
How we handle personal data is set out in our privacy policy. By using the service you agree to that policy.
9. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. We’ll update the effective date above and, for material changes (especially anything affecting operator obligations), email opted-in operators in advance. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.
10. Termination
You can delete your account at any time from the operator dashboard or by emailing us. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms. Termination doesn’t affect rights or obligations that have already accrued — for example, the licence to display content you posted before termination remains for as long as we genuinely need it for moderation history.
11. Governing law
These terms and any dispute arising out of them are governed by applicable local laws. Nothing in this clause prevents a consumer from bringing a claim in their country of residence where local law gives them that right.
