About
Linen Hall Library
Founded in 1788, Linen Hall Library is Belfast's oldest library and one of the most significant cultural institutions on the island of Ireland.
Located in the heart of the city, the library has played a central role in Belfast's intellectual, literary and cultural life for more than two centuries. Its extensive collections include Irish and local studies, rare books, political archives, newspapers and one of the most important collections relating to the history of Northern Ireland.
As an independent subscription library, Linen Hall has long been a place of learning, debate and discovery, welcoming readers, researchers and visitors from around the world. Alongside its collections, the library hosts exhibitions, talks, performances and cultural events throughout the year.
During Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann, Linen Hall Library provides a fitting setting to explore the stories, traditions and cultural heritage that continue to shape Belfast and Ireland today.
A living archive of Belfast's history, culture and ideas at the heart of the city.
