About
Public service media in Ireland is in disarray. It struggles to compete against global rivals, owned and populated by deliberately divisive and inflammatory bad-faith actors. In a united Ireland, such an environment would be disastrous for a new nation and fledgling democracy. Co-authors of a recent report, Stephen Baker and Phil Ramsey alongside Ola Majekodunmi, will discuss what a new democratic public media would mean for culture and politics on the island, and the challenges it would face.

NA MEÁIN AGUS CULTÚR IN ÉIRINN NUA COLÁISTE OLLSCOILE NAOMH MUIRE, BÓTHAR NA BHFÁL
Tá meáin na seirbhíse poiblí in Éirinn ina gcíor thuathail. Tá siad ag streachailt le dul iomaíocht a n-iomaitheoirí domhanda ar le agus ina bhfuil gníomhaithe mí-ionraice atá conspóideach d’aon turas agus atá gríosaitheach. In Éirinn Athaontaithe, bheadh a leithéid sin de thimpeallacht tubaisteach do náisiún nua agus do thír dhaonlathach nuabhunaithe. Pléifidh comhúdair tuarascála déanaí, Stephen Baker, Phil Ramsey agus Ola Majekodunmi, na himpleachtaí a bheadh ann do chultúr agus don pholaitíocht ar an oileán dá mbeadh meáin phoiblí, dhaonlathacha nua ann, agus na dúshláin a bheadh acu.
Imeacht saor in aisce. Ní bheidh áirithint ar bith de dhíth.
