Platinum-selling recording artist, musician and actress Kate Nash will perform at The MAC as part of the Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann Fringe Programme.
Recently exploring her dual English-Irish heritage, Kate has connected with Irish culture and music in new ways, including the release of a powerful reinterpretation of Sinéad O'Connor's Famine, featuring an original verse of her own.
From MySpace to Multi-Platinum Success
Kate Nash first emerged in 2006, building an audience through MySpace by sharing homemade demos and performing across London.
Her debut album, Made of Bricks, was released in 2007 and quickly reached Number One in the UK Albums Chart. The record featured the breakthrough hit Foundations, which became one of the defining songs of the era and remains a radio favourite today.
Her success was recognised in 2008 when she was awarded Best Female Artist at the BRIT Awards.
Artist, Activist & Independent Voice
Following her second album, My Best Friend Is You, Nash increasingly used her platform to challenge industry norms and encourage greater representation for women in music.
She founded the Rock 'N' Roll for Girls After School Music Club, helping inspire and support a new generation of female musicians.
Kate later embraced an independent approach to releasing music, issuing her third album Girl Talk independently and continuing to develop her career outside the traditional major-label system before signing with Kill Rock Stars (KRS) in 2023.
Championing Live Music
Alongside her music career, Kate is a vocal advocate for artists and grassroots venues. Through her Butts for Tour Buses campaign, she has highlighted the financial challenges facing touring musicians and continues to support the work of the Music Venue Trust, where she serves as an artist patron.
