From Wounded Knee to Gaza
This event presents a powerful interdisciplinary exploration of resistance, memory and solidarity through art, film and discussion.
Centred on Brian Vallely's new collection, From Wounded Knee to Gaza, and an accompanying film by Antaine Ó Donnaile, the programme draws compelling historical and political parallels between the experiences of Native American communities and the Palestinian people.
Through visual art and cinematic storytelling, the works explore themes of dispossession, cultural survival and the enduring impact of colonial violence. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion examining the contemporary political context, the ethical responsibilities of artists, and the role of creative expression in shaping public understanding and fostering solidarity.
Continuing Féile's long tradition of cultural activism, this event invites audiences to reflect on global struggles for justice and the transformative power of art during times of conflict. It aims to create a space for dialogue, empathy and deeper understanding across histories and geographies.
Free event. No booking required.
Organised by St Mary's University College – Celebrating 125 Years in the Community.
