About

In 1926 Cumann na mBan launched the Easter lily to raise funds for unemployed republicans. In 1976, Maire Drumm, a leading figure in northern republicanism, was assassinated. At the anniversaries of these two significant events, historians Dr. Margaret Ward and Dr. Susie Deedigan will consider women’s activism in the early decades of the twentieth century

Free event. No booking required.

Ó LILE NA CÁSCA GO DÚNMHARÚ SA MATER: GARSPRIOCANNA I STAIR NA MBAN POBLACHTACH ÉIREANNACH IARSMALANN ULADH

In 1926, sheol Cumann na mBan lile na Cásca chun airgead a thiomsú do Phoblachtaigh a bhí dífhostaithe. In 1976, feallmharaíodh Maire Drumm, mórfhigiúr i bpoblachtachas an tuaiscirt. Ag bliain chomórtha an dá imeacht suntasacha seo, smaoineoidh na staraithe, Margaret Ward agus an Dr. Susie Deedigan, ar ghníomhaíochas na mban seo sna deicheanna luatha de bhlianta den fhicheadú céad.

Imeacht saor in aisce. Ní bheidh áirithint ar bith de dhíth.

Eagraithe ag Coiste Plé agus Díospóireachtaí Féile an Phobail.
