Join John Samuelsen, International President of the Transport Workers Union, and historian Lorcan Collins as they discuss the remarkable life of Mike Quill, from IRA volunteer to one of New York City's most influential labour leaders.
Despite fierce opposition from employers, Quill played a pivotal role in building the Transport Workers Union, organising workers across ethnic, religious and racial divides and earning the nickname "Red Mike."
This talk explores how his leadership advanced workers' rights and created a legacy that continues to shape the union he founded.
