Chunky Tunes & Le Chéile
When the concerts finish, the real late-night magic begins upstairs at The Deer's Head.
Join us each night for a lively gathering of musicians, singers, dancers and festival audiences from across Ireland and beyond. Expect world-class performances, surprise collaborations, special guests, top craic and late-night bangers in one of Belfast's most vibrant music venues.
Chunky Tunes has become one of the most exciting new movements on the trad scene, celebrating big session energy, groove-driven tunes and a fresh approach to traditional music. Led by Gary Curley, Stephen McKee and friends, the collective brings together outstanding musicians, powerful rhythms and an infectious atmosphere that has earned a devoted following among young trad audiences across Ireland.
Joining them are Le Chéile — Cian McGrory (guitar), Phil Acheson (bass) and Josh Sampson (drums) — a trio drawing inspiration from funk, dance music, afrobeat and jazz fusion. Their sound blends traditional influences with contemporary grooves, creating something both adventurous and deeply rooted.
Expect big tunes, heavy rhythms and a dance floor that won't stay empty for long.
You will dance.
