Cúig

"A fresh, unique and vibrant sound that most bands take years to establish. Talent hanging out of them! A truly brilliant trad band."
Niamh Dunne (Beoga)

Hailing from the North of Ireland, Cúig have earned a reputation as one of the most exciting and innovative bands on the contemporary traditional music scene. With a bold and adventurous approach to their native musical tradition, they continue to push boundaries while remaining firmly rooted in the music that inspires them.

The five-piece ensemble has taken audiences on both sides of the Atlantic by storm, touring extensively throughout Ireland, Europe and the United States. Their dynamic performances combine virtuoso musicianship, infectious energy and inventive arrangements, creating a sound that is unmistakably their own.

Cúig features Miceál Mullen (banjo, mandolin), Rónán Stewart (fiddle, uilleann pipes, vocals), Ruairí Stewart (guitar), Eoin Murphy (button accordion) and Cathal Murphy (drums, guitar, vocals). Together, they deliver a thrilling blend of traditional music and contemporary influences that has captivated audiences wherever they perform.

Expect powerful tunes, exceptional musicianship and an unforgettable live show as Cúig light up the stage at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2026.
