A Craft NI Exhibition for Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann

For its August exhibition, Craft NI invited makers to explore the connections between making and music in a vibrant exhibition at Craft NI Gallery.

Discover how some of Northern Ireland's leading craft makers have responded creatively to the musical themes inspired by Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann, as harmony, repetition and flow take physical form through contemporary craft.

The exhibition offers a unique opportunity to experience the relationship between sound, movement and making, interpreted through a diverse range of materials, techniques and artistic approaches.

Instrument Making Demonstrations

Alongside the exhibition, Craft NI will host a series of instrument-making demonstrations, including sessions with award-winning luthier Kurtis Scott.

Learn about the material craft behind musical instruments and gain an insight into the skills, knowledge and traditional techniques involved in their creation.

Kurtis will be working in Craft NI on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of Fleadh week, offering visitors the opportunity to observe the craftsmanship that transforms raw materials into finely tuned instruments.

An exploration of rhythm, craftsmanship and creativity, where music inspires making and making inspires music.
